Capping a meetup with one of our technology partners (https://capsenta.com) in Austin, TX, iNovex sent members of our Foundry Team to attend the SXSW conference – the annual technical conference and art festival in Austin. The team took in some great technical sessions, along with the sights, sounds, arts and tastes in and around the festival. On 3/13 the team attended a session on Interactive Data Analysis: Visualization and Beyond, presented by Jeffrey Heer of the University of Washington and co-founder and CXO of Trifacta, Inc. Covering both interactive demos and principles from academic research, the session examined how to craft a careful balance of interactive and automated methods, combining concepts from data visualization, machine learning, and computer systems to design novel interactive analysis tools.
